The Dept of Gastroenterology is the Key discipline of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, key discipline of Zhejiang integrative Chinese and western medicine, provincial key discipline of gastric and intestinal diseases of integrative Chinese and western medicine, the clinical pharmacology research base of the Ministry of Health, Key laboratory of Zhejiang provincial digestive tract disease pathophysiology, PhD-awarding branch of digestive diseases and master-awarding branch of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, provincial training basis of TCM digestive diseases, the national TCM clinical research base. 

The department has over 50 staffs at present with 1 national Chinese medicine master, 1 national outstanding TCM experts, 3 doctor’s supervisor, 9 master’s supervisor, 14 with master’s degree, 8 with doctor’s degree, 1 research specialist. 

The team has strong medical and scientific research capabilities, radiation and influence.

The department is equipped with specialty clinics and specialist clinic, gastrointestinal endoscopy center and 90 inpatient beds. The annual outpatients are up to 100,000 and inpatients 4000, the rate of patients from outside is 55%, and the rate of TCM treatment is up to 95%.
