Department of Endocrinology-----Zhejiang provincial key discipline of integrated Chinese and western medicine, key discipline of innovative metabolic disease of Chinese medicine and Western medicine, the director unit of diabetes specialized committee of the integrated Chinese and Western medicine in Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang provincial youth civilization unit and training base of the diabetes specialized nurses in Zhejiang Province. The department also delivers lectures for undergraduates and postgraduates from  Zhejiang Chinese medical university , Medical College of Zhejiang University and Wenzhou Medical University and it is mobile station of doctor of Chinese and western medicine and post- doctoral of endocrinology of Zhejiang Chinese medical university. The department has become first-class clinical, scientific research and teaching bases in the province featured with traditional Chinese medicine. 
   The department of endocrinology has over 50 staffs at present including 3 master’s supervisor, 13 with master’s degree, 3 with doctor’s degree and 1 in 151 talent project and 2 heirs of old Chinese medicine experts academic experience. The departments establishes experts clinics, wards (83 impatient beds), bone density rooms (in Xiasha campus) and disease specialty for diabetes, obesity, hyperthyreosis and gout and staffs are well-experienced in treating and managing  diabetes with  insulin pump. The number of annual emergency is 40 thousand, discharge people are around 2000 and the proportion of patients out of the area is up to 43%. The department are well-experienced in treating chronic diabetic complications and metabolic syndrome with integrated Chinese and western medicine and actively carries out the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine and metabolic diseases such as thyroid, parathyroid gland, adrenal gland, reproductive gland, pituitary, hypothalamus, calcium and phosphorus metabolic diseases. The department is equipped with advanced instruments like insulin pump, continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS), bone densitometer and so on. We also take the lead in the province to treat diabetic foot by autologous stem cell transplantation and we also attach great importance to the education of diabetes, carry out different forms of patient education regularly every year which has achieved good social benefits and has a high reputation among the diabetic patients in the province.
